Courtney La Bau
Courtney has over 18 years experience in the international political and business arenas. She is a strategic adviser, author, and speaker on national security and countering violent extremism around the world, specializing in building bridges and fostering dialogue across cultures. Although a native of Los Angeles, she has lived and worked in over 55 countries and is experienced in foreign affairs, diverse populations, with a background in international business. She speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Arabic. She has been featured on CNN, ABC, Al Jazeera, Euro News, and Sky News Arabia on these topics, as well as profiled at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Currently, Courtney is in development on a podcast, and an unscripted international political series. Courtney is also the Vice Chair of Emerge California, an organization dedicated to recruiting and training women to run for political office. She has also worked on numerous political campaigns, at the local level as well as the national level. Courtney is also a Political Partner for the Truman National Security Project in Washington DC, and the Political Director for the Los Angeles chapter. She was recently named one of Los Angeles’s “40 under 40” leading civic leaders by the Empowerment Congress in 2017.
