Since starting my entrepreneurship journey almost three years ago, running my own PR agency from all over the world, my weekends disappeared. I replaced brunch and lazy mornings with crafting media pitches, strategies, and research. Sure, I enjoyed my weekends and did fun things, but work was still a priority. When you are a business owner, the stakes are high, and taking a full day off (let alone two) seems wrong. There is always something more that can be done and life becomes an endless cycle of to-do lists. Then COVID-19 disrupted the world
I'm sharing my spririt of determinations as a founder and mompreneur, because I know that financial freedom is obtainable, even in a crisis.
I have a confession: I've never really enjoyed working for other people. Why? Well, for starters, I'm selfish. If there's a final bite of shared dessert on the plate, I'll eat it. If I go even one day without hitting the gym, I'm resentful. Once the coffee is made, I pour myself a cup of coffee before I offer it to my husband. I hoard time the way others hoard possessions. I'm selfish with my thoughts. I like to be alone. Sometimes, I stick my daughter in front of a cartoon just so I can hear myself think.
Organic growth has made all the difference for my company. Since its start in 2010, Fresh n' Lean has delivered more than 7.2 million organic meals that are free of pesticides, hormones, GMOs, and other additives. The business itself has grown organically, too, without the help of any outside capital.

Jerricha Hoskins is a licensed cosmetologist, mother of six, and founder of Arcani Coil Care. Even through her darkest days, living in a homeless shelter with her toddler after losing her home and having her vehicles repossessed, Hoskins always dreamt of owning her own business.
She launched Arcani Coil Care just two years ago. Her business features vegan-based temporary hair colors, a men's beard care kit, children's curl mousse, edge control products, leave-in conditioners, lock cream, and more. Despite the challenges, Hoskins chased her dream, which many people thought was far-fetched — owning her own hair care line.
